WHO WE ARE
Our Program
We believe children learn best through active play experiences shaped by their own personal interests, rather than through rigid or sequenced activities. Our Green Tree Method™ is a guide to the quality care and education of children from infancy up to and including age 5. Our programming focuses on: • setting up classrooms and play areas in a way that sparks children’s curiosity and creativity • providing opportunities for small group experiences and friendships • integrating numeracy, literacy, arts, drama, science and movement into all classroom activities • making organic gardening an integral part of each child’s day, both indoors and outdoors • having all staff participate in each child’s play experiences as nurturers and learning partners • observing and documenting the milestones in each child’s day to monitor individual development and share with parents. The Green Tree Method™ encourages children to make choices from a variety of activities and materials throughout their day. Moving at their own pace and in their own direction, they learn how to ask questions, solve problems and interact with their peers. All of our programs run year-round. We offer full-time and part-time care (2 or 3 days per week when available). As well, Green Apple Kids offers junior and senior kindergarten programs for parents who want their children to have the advantage of the highest quality daycare while preparing for the first grade. Our French immersion programs are delivered entirely in French. For more details, please review our Parent Manual.
